STUDIO TIME RENTALS

Hot Shop at Benzaiten

Professional artists have found a home at the Benzaiten Center.  Josh Fradis, pictured below, exhibits the work he makes with us all over the country.  He has been renting time in our studio since we opened.  He appreciates our knowledgable and talented staff and the care we take in keeping our hot shop equipment updated and running smoothly.  This 2024 Summer we invested in a brand new state-of-the-art 400-pound furnace as well as updating our entire cold-working shop.

NOTE:  Before you can rent time in any of our studios, you first have to meet with the studio managers so they can evaluate your level of expertise.  You'll need to call or email the office to schedule one of the following managers:

•  Hot Shop Manager:  Grace Chepenik

•. Cold Shop Manager:  James Clarke

•. Flameworking Studio Manager:  Jose Ugas

What Else You Need to Know:

•  Renters are required to sign a waiver and the studio policy page

•. Rentals must be pre-paid before session begin

•. Blocks of time can be purchased at the discounted rate of 10% off 10 hours

•. Rental Schedule:  Tuesdays - Saturdays  10AM - 5PM

•. 10 lbs@hour of clear Glassma Glass 700 Series

•. Any gross overuse shall be charged an extra $2/lb. after basic

•. Bench tools • Jacks • Tweezers • Straight and Diamond Shears

•. Shop Pipes and Punties

•. Kevlar Gloves • Safety Mask • Compressed Air

•. 1 Overnight Annealing Cycle

•. Longer Cycles can be arranged with the Hot Shop Manager, Grace

•  Rental Time in our Hot Shop   

•. 12" Glory Hole:  $50@hour

•  18" Glory Hole:  $55@hour

•  Assistant:  $20@hour

•  Private Lesson: $150@hour working with clear glass; color is extra

•  Garage:  $5@hour

•. Bench Torch:  $2.50@hour

•. Oxi/Gas Torch:  $4@hour

•. Rental Time in our Flameworking Studio:  $45@hour

•. Rental Time in Cold Shop after passing our Cold Shop Certification Process:  $15@hour

•. Cold Shop Services:  This where one of staff cold-works your piece:  $25@hour
