Ann Friedlander received her first oil paints when she was 6 years old and so art has always been part of the path of her life. She attended Cooper Union , NYC and graduated from Parsons School of Design , NYC. In an unusual twist Friedlander became a Modern Psychoanalyst after earning a masters degree in Art Therapy and Creativity Development from Pratt Institute. While at Pratt she became interested in the development of meaning in symbols and words, which are still a pivotal part of work to this day.
Currently she is one of ten artists that were chosen by California Artist, Nicholas Wilton , to participate in his Art2 Life mentorship program for painters. Her work has been displayed at The Newark Museum , Newark NJ., The Mesa Art Center, Mesa, AZ, The Moultrie Art Center, Moultrie GA, and The Knoxville Museum of Art, Knoxville , TN. Now she is represented by the Benzaiten Center for Creative Arts in Lake Worth, FL.
